BruceRee
I just found this on my tank wall. It moves around like a snail, but it's got soft spines on it like an urchin. The size is probably less that half an inch. Can someone please help me figure out what this is? I've attached a picture Link to comment

faust9
If this were in your garden using the description in your original post you'd probably know what it was immediatly. Its a sea slug, a Nudibranch. You can find a bunch of good pictures on this site: http://slugsite.tierranet.com/ I'm sure someone here can ID this, unfortunetly I cannot. I've never fiddled with slugs. You could post at http://www.seaslugforum.net/welcome.htm for a positive ID. Here's another extensive species ID list if you want to look through all of them: http://www.seaslugforum.net/species.htm Here's a little more info: http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/aqfm/19.../wb/default.asp Well, good luck Link to comment
texan1
You must have zoo's... Link to comment
Crakeur
be careful handling the slug. If it is a zoo eater, it's toxic and can give you quite the buzz. Link to comment
caja
I would suggest not touching it at all if possible. Net it and flush it. If you have to touch it use rubber gloves. Link to comment
Acoustic
Yeah.......Try not to squish it with your finger or lick it with your tongue. Link to comment
Crakeur
hehe. try explaining that to the doctor. I, uh, fell and landed on the slug, tongue first. Link to comment
