D-D H2Ocean Pro+ and low pH

I have a new setup. No livestock just ESV Fine Grade Oolitic about 1.5" deep in 28 gallon tank. The specific gravity is 1.025 at 78.5F. I have three powerheads moving the water. I added the water 5 days ago. The pH measures 7.9. I am using a lab grade Neptune probe that I just calibrated and verified with solution at tank temperatures. The hardness is 8. Calcium is at 420 according to API test kit.

D-D's instructions say the salt should mix up at about 8.2-8.4 pH.

 

Is this normal?

Hmm, that's odd.

Did you mix the bucket of salt before you started using it?

My most recent batch of D-D water tested out with an Alk of 12 dKh and a Ca level of 410, but I didn't test the Ph.
