Bill_68
Hello All, I have a rather fullish 10 gallon nano. Mostly Polyps. Snails. 1 largish crab. All inverts and corals. Lots of live rock. Anyhow, everything was fine until I switched to Metal Halide. I had a diatom bloom. Clean up crew prevailed. Now my PH is tending to run high. I have cut back on feeding the inverts, but... alas High 8.8 PH. Solutions other than more frequent water changes? Is it that the rotting diatoms from the last bloom are rotting? *Important Part* I use an API ph kit. Is there a better test kit that isn't too expensive and is easier to read. I'm not colorblind, but the scale is hard to read. Brown, Pinkish Brown, Dark pink. Sort of dark pink. Sometimes I can't really read it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Bill Link to comment
lakshwadeep
Are you adding any additives/supplements. You should first get you water tested by a different test kit, such as on at a LFS, to see if the numbers are corroborated. In the meantime, read this: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-03/rhf/index.php Link to comment
