I would expect less algae, but some tap is fairly clean, and issues don't crop up for months as contaminants build up over time. Some have no problems for ages and ages, then suddenly a pipe is disturbed somewhere between their tap and the water supply plant, and they get a toxic load that nukes the tank. Using RO/DI is preventative, so unless you're actually having problems already, I doubt you'll see anything drastic. Link to comment
