No Photos but algae question

In my flow tube from my overflow box to my filter, I get this algae that grows in the tube. It literally looks like grass. It's not bushy, it's solid strands, I think it's hair algae as it could look like green head hair. BUT, from the photos' I've seen of hair algae, mine looks different. It grows only in the overflow box and in the tube itself. As soon as I release a piece of it into my filter area it's munched on by whatever lives in my calupra. I grow a huge baggie of it every month and give it to my lps. It's green grape calupra. Anyway, do I need a pic to identify this or can someone off the top of there head tell me for sure it's actual hair algae. The color is a rich dark green, literally like grass:)
