It depends on the brand and how much water you add to the tank. Don't worry about filling the entire tank (it will overflow when you add rocks/sand); even 1/2 full is fine.

I use Reef Crystals and Red Sea Coral Pro in my 24 Aquapod and I usually add 1/2 cup per gallon of RO water. This puts the SG at about 1.025 give or take. My tank usually takes I believe about 18 gallons of water the rest is displaced by LR and LS.

When I started my tank, I looked at the weight of the bucket and the number of gallons it made and divided that down. I used tropic marin pro-reef and a kitchen scale. Scales are awesome for water changes and you'll bake way better quality stuff in your kitchen with a scale anyway.

When I weighed it out, tropic marin pro-reef came out to 1.023 at stock strength. I've crept my tank up to 1.026 and I use 590g/4gal.
