Overtkill
This may be a completely stupid question but, does anyone ever have problems with snails (or anything else) climbing out of an open top tank? I plan to put a glass cover on my upcoming project, but if the temp gets to high i may be removing it. But i dont want to risk anything getting out Link to comment
AbSoluTc
Very few snails decide to climb out their tanks. Some do, but its a rare occurance. I would also stray away from placing a glass cover on your tank as this reduces the amount of available oxygen and interupts the gas exchange that is needed for a tank. Not to mention it cuts down the amount of light that enters as well. Good luck. Link to comment
caja
I've had my tank running for 11 months and only 1 margarita snail has decided to climb out. Don't worry about it, besides, snails are fairly inexpensive. Link to comment
Crakeur
they will climb above the water line at times but they usually come back down. never had one work its way down the other side of the tank Link to comment
nalbar
it is evolution at work! perhaps one day you will look at the tank stand and there will be a little, tiny person there. all because a snail climbed out of the premordial soup. nalbar Link to comment
