However, its starting to grow all over my back glass, inlet tube on my filter, snails, etc. I've seen pics of ppls reef tanks COVERED with the stuff to the extent there isn't even a clear spot on the back glass. What are the benefits of it besides esthetics? Should I leave it on the glass or just scrape it off? d. Link to comment

tinyreef Posted December 10, 2003 Share Posted December 10, 2003 it also provides a better foothold for corals. it cements the rockwork together. it's an excellent indicator for optimal conditions for stonys. their spores add to the available plankton. it also provides another habitat for microfauna. sometimes they add addition surface area, then again sometimes they cut off surface area. personally, i just like the look. hth Link to comment

More movement, grows faster, much more natural color and much easier to maintain....... Oh God, I would kill to get a good batch of coraline going.... Link to comment
