anthony812
DIY Refugium for my 40 gallon, concept and schem. drawings Ok, i went to Home depot and spend a wopping $37.00 on getting the materials for the Refugium i'm builting for my 40 gallon. material list: 1 x 30" x 36" plexyglass 1/4" thick. (they cut down to the size i want) $27.99 2 x Aquarium glue $3.50 ea. tubings and holders $6.00 I will use a Rio 400 that i have already in my tank to power this puppy. Concept: I want to use a natural way to let water from the refugium flow to the main tank without worry about power outtage situations. So i desided the dimensions to be 15" L x 12" H x 4" W, then to devide it to 3 compartments with 9" H walls. so that there won't be water drained to the main tank in case of power outtage and the refugium will still have its water. The light source will be the AM sunlight i get thru my windows every morning. i am thinking of adding a extra light on top in the future, but will see how this one goes first. One question, im my drawings below, i have the Rio 400 in my sump right when the main tank water overflows into the sump..is that ok or should i leave the PH inside the main tank? Take a LOOK and let me know what yal think..^_^ thanks! Link to comment

Guest LudavicoTechnique
No Bio balls. Just empty filters or sponges. Link to comment
