It is when I turn the mix pump off and looks kinda like ice on a window. I have NEVER noticed it before. Could it be from the container I am using leaching stuff out after months of use? or is it just from the salt? Link to comment

LogansRunRx Posted December 14, 2009 Share Posted December 14, 2009 have seen similar stuff at my place. was concerned it was bacteria/fungus ... so... i chucked all my SW mixing stuff (thermo, heater, powerhead, tubing, etc) in one of my buckets and ran hot water through it for about 10-15 min in the bath tub. then a few tablespoons of bleach and let it sit for 30 min or so. then flushed water through everything for another 10-15 min. never seen it again. don't anticipate any issues (use of bleach and what not)... it's the same process you go through when you home brew (everything has to be sterile up front)... and i haven't had any issues with the tank. have done weekly water changes for the last 2 months with the same equipment.
