temp light req's for LR only question

I have a ViaAqua 18g tank w/ out-of-box 36w lighting (half 6700K, half actinic). I have a friend who is retiring his reef tank and is planning on giving me enough LS and LR to start my setup. Because I am on a budget, I plan on putting his sand and rock into my tank with the current lighting until I can afford a 96W retrofit. Will the LR survive with the current lighting, assuming I don't add any corals, etc. until I upgrade?

 

Also, will I be able to add any inverts or fish for the time being?

Yep, not a problem. Start with the inverts and let them settle in before you add any fish.
