Carl_in_Florida
I got a bunch of cool looking rock from http://www.gulf-view.com . I really like the rock but it was covered in these clams. I liked watching them open and close in the beginning but now I see them dumping this nasty stringy clam poop. Is there any reason I should not rip every one of these nasty poop creating things out of my tank? Link to comment
birdman204
Are you gona rip everything else in your tank out that poops? No. I wouldn't worry for now. Oh yeah, it may be the deteriorating, what are your ammonia and nitrite levels. Link to comment
Carl_in_Florida
I have not tested. The tank is less than a week old. I figured I would just ride it out for a while before fretting the levels. The clams open and close, and every now and then, when they close, will spit out a long strand of this stringy poop. Nasty, nasty. Link to comment
Crakeur
perhaps they are spawning. just a thought. odds are they won't all live thru the cycle and you won't have to concern yourself with the stringy poop. Link to comment

Mnesarchus
Ah the joys of aquaria... strange poop-like slime popping up everywhere. Link to comment
Carl_in_Florida
Thought I would give an update. The clam poop is less of a problem now that they are droping like flies during my cycle. The joys of non-cured rock. Carl Link to comment
