Urchinhead
Two cups for 5 gallons is what I do. It comes out to about 1.024 sg. Link to comment
reeftankguy
I also use a 1/2 cup per gallon... Salinity mixes at 1.025+ Measured with a Refracto and Hydro Link to comment
nanoreefnate
seems like 1/2 cups or less it the consensus. il check my SG in a few hours when temp and salt are all stable. Link to comment
davidr2340
1/2 cup / gallon is what I use as well. Link to comment

jackaninny
i just pour it in until my big toe starts to hurt. that's when I know I hit 1.026. I know the thread is a little old but I did some checking and 1 cup of table salt weighs .6437 pounds so 1 pound of table salt would be 1.5539 cups. D-D instructions say 1 pound for 3 gallons (to get 1.025) so that works out to roughly 1/2 cup per gallon. Hopefully this helps clarify things. Link to comment
StevieT
Trial and error to find what works for you? It's not going to be much different from any other salt you have used http://wiki.answers.com/Q/A_cup_of_salt_is...how_many_pounds http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp...3210ee8ecdbb10e Link to comment
