microreefguy Posted November 29, 2003 Share Posted November 29, 2003 i'm suggesting eveyone to go to www.aquacraft.net it's an online magazine type that updates every three months. they did a study with an independent company that tested 15 different salt mixes. you will be surprised at the results. instant ocean, probably one of the most popular brands didn't score very well at all. tests were based on minerals, metals, and all necessary elements compared to natural sea water. at bottom of home page click on issue #3 to see all salt mixes. then click on picture of salt mix to see results.
