i got myself a new mini fan that runs at 5400 rpms for $20 bucks.  its a computer fan that is suppose to be pretty good. now i think all i need is a ac/dc converter but what i dont know how to do is rig the wires. there are three.  one yellow, one black, and one red. i'm pretty sure one of thoes wires is just a sensor wire to feed info to a computer. any body know?

With only two wires it was a snap. I just stripped the wires back half an inch twisted them together and wrapped them with electrical tape.

Are you sure the fan is DC?

Red and Black are universal.. Plus and Minus.

The yellow wire is exactly what you stated.  For a sensor.  If this was hooked up to a computer, that yellow wire would relay the temprature to the motherboard telling it that its either normal or OVERHEATING.

Wire up as usual.
