polok121
i have been reading a lot on this forum and the interweb...and i cant decide which is best. I know two part raises both Cal and Alk much more than kalk. but from what i read Kalk while maintaining more of a balance still increases both slightly. My parameters ar; ALk 7dkh cal 400ppm Mg 1400ppm pH 8.4 Anythoughts?? Link to comment
disaster999
well for kalk, you will need to find a way of slowly dripping the stuff in the tank, you cant just add it all at once. you probably need some sort of ATO or dosing pump, or figure out how much water your tank evaporates and set a drip rate....which all seems too complicated to me i personally uses DIY 2 part solution and its keeping my tank pretty stable. its much easier to dose as well. lakshwadeep
Kalk is good until you have a problem where you need to increase/decrease just calcium or alkalinity. IMO, all people dosing kalk should have a two-part ready for quick changes. I haven't dosed kalkwasser...only b-ionic (two part). Link to comment
JeF4y
JMHO but everything I've read discourages Kalk for newbies and small tanks. Link to comment
