darwin604
Well, it looks like my biggest issue with my nano is finally winding down. As recommended I've started using distilled water (RO is hard to find around here), done a few water changes and cut back the lighting to 10 hrs a day . . The red slime that seemed to be infesting my sand (had to remove a bunch of the sand, clean it, and put it back in the tank almost every other day) is finally clearing up. The glass is cleaner, sand is turning back to its normal color, and its working out great - knock on wood. Anyways, just thought I'd post an update as well as a warning to anyone thinking of using tap water for their nano . . I'll never make that mistake again. The bubble algae's still there but its not getting any worse . . in fact, with just a bit of it in my tank I think it actually looks kinda cool d. Link to comment
