sukeband
Do pods burrow under tha sand? I saw a few things about 1/16 to 1/8 inch long burrowing like eartworms under the sand. They had five legs, an insect like head, and those little shrimp like swimmerets and and a forked tail? are these pods? do they burrow? Link to comment
Crakeur
anong the many sites, these three popped up by searching reefaquarium.info http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-10/rs/index.htm http://www.saltaquarium.about.com/cs/pests...epods/index.htm http://www.wetwebmedia.com/amphipodfaqs.htm Link to comment
sukeband
Thanks alot crak after reading all this. They aren't copods, I hope whatever it is, is beneficial. More reasearch is warranted. These things are too big for copods. Link to comment
mtodd001
Thanks for the answer Crak, I have copepods in my 10 g and it looks like amphipods starting in my main tank(54g). Link to comment
mtodd001
No more worries about pods being eaten by blenny. He was too slow and became part of the lionfish's food chain.:*( Link to comment
Iphantom
You had a lion fish and blenny together!! have you done-any research on reefs at all? how big is your tank with the lion fish?(please don't tell me it's a nano) and what other fish are in there with him-lion fish are not reef safe fish I highly suggest doing alot more research before anything else browse around this site at least -matt Link to comment
mtodd001
I'm sorry, I should have given my tank run down first. Its a 54 g FOWLR, not a reef. The lionfish is still small, 4-5in and there are only a few fish, a blue Damsel and the lion. There are 5 or 6 snails and 6 crabs. I really thought the blenny was safe because he was 3-4 in long and hide in caves all day long. Link to comment
Iphantom
he'll take care of the damsel as well dont worry about pods if you dont have them naturally since you cant have any fish that eat them Link to comment
