doctaq Posted September 3, 2009 Share Posted September 3, 2009 how normal is it for alk to drop one or two dkh each day? i have sps but theyre all pretty small maybe like 3 square inches worth of montis and maybe 8 inches worth of sps in 15 gals my calcium is only around 400 so i cant imagine its too high for the alk my alk seems to stay around 7 even when i dose it up to 9 or 10 i use seachem reefbuilder alk thingy i test a minute or two after i dose, does this give me a false reading? It seems as though it shouldn't matter so long as you give the alk enough time to be thoroughly mixed into the water but there could be something I'm missing. Why don't you dose it while the lights are off (and thus the corals and coralline algae are not calcifying) and give it an hour or two before you test? Link to comment
