gbishop
Hi all, I mentioned in another post I am considering upgrading to a larger tank (24x24x24) with a possible sump. The other tank will obviously hold more water and will need more LS & LR. I would like some help on the best way to make the transition. 1. Could I remove all inhabitants and bag them up, then simply move the original LS, LR & tank water to the new tank without having to go through the cycliing process again? 2. Because I would need more LS & LR, would this have to go through the cycle process, or could I just add it to the existing LS? Thanks Link to comment
fidojoe
I would say going from a 16 to a 60 gallon, you would need to get a lot more sand, and live rock. I would hook everything up on the new tank, leaving the small one setup as is, for now. Have all of the new LR, and new sand in the new tank, and let the new tank cycle. Once the new tank is cycled, then move everything over. Link to comment
