Help with FOWLR

hey all.. I am setting up a 10 gallon for a friend with only LR and a couple perc's. What equip. would you suggest.. lighting, filter, etc. Would I need to get a skimmer for her?? She doesnt have too much money to blow so, I am trying to save her cash by putting an overflow into the 10g that serves as the sump aswell... leaving 6g's for the LS, LR, & Percs.

you can just go with the NO lights that com with a 10g hood --nothing fancy or expensive

she wont need a skimmer if water changed are done on a regular basis

let the LR do the filtering and put a cheap HOB filter on for some water movement
