i bought a 5.5 gallon tank a while ago for freshwater and now i have decided to go salt instead.

would the 14w flouresent plant bulb in it now be able to support some live rock untill my 2x13w PC light kit comes in a few weeks?

i had the tank up and running with salt, sand, power head, and heater for two days now. would it be a good idea to put about 7 lbs of live rock in there to get the cycle started?

Go ahead and crank some rock into it. If you let the water cycle alone, it will most likely go into another full cycle, if not a mini-cycle when you finally add LR. A lot depends upon the quality of your LR and whether it's cured or not when you get it. And yes your light should be more than enough for the time being.

(How was that caja?)

add the rocks now. that will give a month to get your lights up and running untill the cycle should be finished or ending the 14w would be perfect until you plan to add someting other than fish to the tank
