button polyp eating?

i have a hitchhiker button polyp on a piece of my LR. A clump of hair algae is caught right where it's mouth is. Is the polyp attempting to eat the algae???

if you dont want it there pull it off(the algae i mean) you can use some tweezers if its small or a small tooth brush to wipe it away afterwards you can give it meaty treats directly to the polyp if it will hold onto them

i personally doubt its eating algae most likley the current is causeing the algae to irritate the polyp
