aggiereefer
I have a few very small isolated clumps of pink/purple/fuschia/whatever colored algae, I assume its coralline. Ive noticed that each clump has some small translucent fibers coming out of it. Is this something the algae uses to catch food? Link to comment
blk_g20
i think coralline uses light to feed...not actual food... Link to comment
triggerhappy8
Are these clumps really hard or kinda soft and slimy? If they have strings coming out like you described I am thinking it is actually red slime cyano that you have. I too thought that I was getting coralline when I first started my tank when it was actually cyano that would soon take over the tank. Hope this helps. Craig Link to comment
aggiereefer
i have cyno in the tank also and this the stuff i presume that is coralline looks much nicer. I assume its hard. Link to comment
birdman204
Could be some form of worm. I have a few on a nice piece of rock, They stick out really fine tentacles to catch food. Not often though. Do a search on google for amphipods or copepods and you should find some info. Link to comment
