reefsrule
Can I convert my sump into a fuge? It's on the back of my 5 gallon. I've been hearing that bio balls are unnessary for reef tanks, so I was thinking I could remove those and maybe put in some rock. Also, would a 9 watt compact flourescent be enough for lighting? reefsrule
What types of algae do I put in to aid in controlling algae and absorb phosphates? So far I put in some sand and a piece of live rock from my tank into the fuge. Do I need the light over the live rock right now? Link to comment
mattie
i have razor and grape calurpa and i leave the light on 24/7 i have noticed that the growing of calurpa has lowered my nitrates to 0. as for the phospahtes I limit what i feed and i use ro/io water or distilled. to limit phos introduced to the tank i would light even LR I also have a few small hermits and a snail in there just to keep it clean Link to comment
