AStarWithin
Hi, I have my tank set up infront of our window due to space issues. I put a black background to block the sunlight, but I'm still getting sunlight beaming in from the left side of the tank as well as small beams from holes where the heater and filter are. Is this ok? Should I block the left side with more background?? I really don't want to do that. I have 9 hermits and 4 astrea snails in a ten gallon w/ no algae issues so far... Link to comment
xxaquanutxx
I would think that some natural sunlight is a plus for your tank.. But if you dont want any at all, why dont you try closing the blinds or putting up a curtain.. or using a black back ground made from vinyle or laminated paper?? Link to comment
mattie
if the tanks temp is okay and the algae is not going crazy don't worry Link to comment
matt the fiddler
so why in the trek for tons of light MH/ PC, etc... why not include the sun?.. the sun should be able to help.. [assuming you have enough algae eaters and control] Link to comment
Crakeur
sun is fine but keep an eye out for nuisance algae. My tank gets a couple hours of direct sunlight in the morning and that is the spot where the hair algae grows. Link to comment
