So whilst I've been run off my feet taking care of my little new-born, Lachlan Jack!

The crazy nCube is blooming with color and life, fatalities incurred during cycling was 3 chromis!

- Temperature is now at 24c/77f (trying to control the green algae)

- New additions include:

Pair of Maroon Clowns

Sixline Wrasse

Juvenile Koran

5 hermit crabs!

4 snails

- Surviving 2 chromis :-)

A few new corals, scully, brain, piano, daisy and elegance which I will shoot a pic of tomorrow it's truly beautiful.

- Modifications (more likely changes):

Removed carbon, sponge and ceramic rings from filter chamber

Added filter floss and Chemipure-Elite

Added another inch of subtrate

aii baby screaming back later :-) LOL hope you enjoy the pics and the brief update...

All levels still very healthy, no nitrate to speak of!

Looking great so far, although you may want to find a new home for that koran :(

Once I got the return back to normal (hahah) connecting the chiller was a piece of piss!

I love your phrases and expressions. I honestly wasn't sure if a piece of piss was a hard task, or an easy one until i read the next sentence.

I've already had a few issues with the Koran, I had to re-located the scully!

Interestingly I had a very slight ammonia spike yesterday, the first time since the tank cycled and it's had an impact on the Koran - he certainly isn't look great this morning. I did a w/c last night to neutralize any further effects.

I think the spike may of been the result of adding some additional substrate a week ago, all though it was washed thoroughly it's the only change outside of adding chemipure-elite and removing the carbon & ceramic rings (2 wks ago).

Fun Fun Fun!

  • 2 weeks later...

You have a very nice tank. I really like your large tank too. I saved your thread as I am setting up the same tank myself. My liverock is curing in a large container. My next baby is due in Feb, have an almost two year son as well. When he sees the tank he says "bubbles". :D

How is your tank going? Has all the nuisance algae gone now? Post some fresh pics when you can.

Hope your new baby is doing well and not keeping you up too much at night!
