Rockfish Posted February 9, 2010 Author Share Posted February 9, 2010 Dont they need to be dosed for? it depends.....don't dose anything in your tank until you see the consumption rate of the animal(s) you have in it if you don't have any LPS SPS corals then weekly water changes are enough in a med sized tank if you have a LPS SPS reef as well as clams in lets say a 29 gallon tank then you will have to dose i have 7 clams in 44 gallons of water and i dose 2-3 times a week depending on how fast the calcium/alk rates are depleted Link to comment

Softie dominated Which clam would you suggest for a beginner? well that's a complicated question....a great beginner clam is a derasa clam BUT they can get to be well over 16 INCHES!!! that's a BIGGGG clam a good sized clam for a smaller tank IMO is a maxima Link to comment
