Your Opinion on whether or not 81 degrees is too hot?

I'm ready to go out and get my live rock and sand but the temperature of my tank refuses to drop below 81.

The tank is an eclipse 12. I have unplugged the heater and with the 3 pumps (2 rio 200's and the pump the tank came with), and the light, the temp is a solid 81. I keep the flap on the hood open.

If this is doable, I'll raise the heater to 81 so the temperature is consistent at night.

I really want to do this right. If the general consensus is that I'd be wasting my time at greater than 80 degrees, I'll keep looking at options.

Thanks for helping me out with all this, I just really don't want to kill anything because of my ignorance.

Not exactly.

That thread is about me having a problem with the heat and what I can do about it.

Now that I have figured out I can get it to 81, I want to know if thats ok to work with.

Judging from the polls hosted on this site, a majority of users keep their tanks below 81. That concerns me.
