Mojorizn
try a ge 6500 in there somewhere.Adds great colors Ya think that would "yellow" it up too much with the Aquasuns? 6500 is pretty yellow Link to comment
Mojorizn
Another possible combo: 3 x Blue plus 1 x Super Actinic 1 x UVL 75/25 1 x Aquasun or Aquaflora or Fiji Purple Decisions, decisions ........ Link to comment
JBM
you want a 6500 in there believe me because it's really only 10% about what you see. the other 90%is what the corals can use & like. 6.5k is a good bulb Link to comment
Weetabix7
3x Blue+ 1x Super Actinic 1x Fiji Purple 1x GE 6500 That's my Final Answer. Did I win anything? Link to comment

SPS20
Seek ye out a gentleman by the same of GrimReefer on RC. Nice guy, very helpful, and is a veritable treasure trove of information regarding T5's and bulb combinations. He is really the foremost "expert" on the subject, much like our evilc66 and LED's. IMO, he is the go-to guy on the subject. Link to comment

WorrBaller
Congrats on the bloom! Now there is life in the tank! So I had two questions about your plumbing: Do you get a lot of sucking noise and is the surface of the water being skimmed? Link to comment
Mojorizn
So I had two questions about your plumbing: Do you get a lot of sucking noise and is the surface of the water being skimmed? I get no sucking or flushing niose. Ya have to adjust the 90's a little and let it ride a day or two, then everything settles in. I can divert the full flow of the Q1 6000 to the return and the drains can handle it no prob. Plenty of surface skimming...not an issue. Link to comment
WorrBaller
Sweet! So the key is in the adjustment then? That looks so much simpler than trying to make your own overflow box or spending $75 on a kit. Link to comment
Mojorizn
I've used that approach in 3 different tanks....works for me. Just make sure your "drains" or 90's and bulkheads are big enough to handle the pump. In this case, they are both 1.25" I think. Link to comment
