kato Posted October 31, 2003 Share Posted October 31, 2003 ok so i got the 28 watt coralife pc light over my 10g and i was tinking about trying to make it more powerful. does any one know or has any one tryed to put a bigger light strip in their? is it possible? from what i can tell it looks like i have about 5 " of extra space and i wouldnt mind customizing it to make one fit but will the balast be able to handel a bigger light? MrConclusion Posted November 1, 2003 Share Posted November 1, 2003 You could fit a 32 watt bulb, but you would probably need to change to "straight pin" endcap instead of the "square pin" styl;e you have now. There are two good options... 1. Forget monkeying around with the 28 watt and just pay $97 to get the Coralife 96-watt powerquad. This is beauty on a 10 gallon tank! Get a "workhorse 2" ballast for $23 to overdrive your existing bulb, or a 32 watt bulb.
