Pumps have metal components that may contaminate my tank, or this is just ok? Is there any particular brand of pump that is soley made for saltwater use? Link to comment
Physh1 Posted October 25, 2003 Share Posted October 25, 2003 Any pumps that do have metal (like mag drive screws and impellar shafts) are higher grade stainless steel. These are safe so as long as you guys name brand pumps like MajiJets, smaller Rios, aquaclear powerheads, you'll be fine. I've had a few rio 800's and a few maxijet 1200's running for well over 2 years w/o any signs of corrosion or rust. Cameron Link to comment
