redrocket Posted October 23, 2003 Share Posted October 23, 2003 i just noticed my tomato clown is covered in ick. im not to worried about the fish as i know of treatments for it. what im worried about is the coral. can ick kill my coral are smother it? if so i have a tank i can swap all coral to i just need to know. thanks:x Link to comment
JohnnyMTB Posted October 30, 2003 Share Posted October 30, 2003 If you have a spare tank I would switch the clown to it for treatment. Ich won't affect your corals or inverts. Seem to remember a lot of the Ich medicines containing copper, which would not be safe for corals, haven't looked into ich in years so things may have changed as far as treatments go. The actual parasite has a 3 to 4 week life cycle, so you'll want to wait that long before you re-introduce the fish; do some research to get the actual amount of time. Link to comment
