tsalter
So far i have two 19w curlys in my Diy hood. I am looking at an actinic suppliment and was wondering what was the best/cheapest way to do this.  I can't seem to find the bookworms as they were my first choice.  Should I wire up a 13w? w/ a cheap depot ballast?  or should I go with a higher wattage bulb? and different ballast?  Just trying to figure out the pros and cons of different setups.  Thanks  Tom Link to comment
tsalter
Thinking of going with there 13watt kit for less than $20 w/o bulb. maybe run 2? Â Tom Link to comment
onthefly
Just got a new bookworm for my 5.5. Ace hardware has them for $29. http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.j...rentPage=search  A bit more, but it sits perfectly in my hood and I already have the bulb, so it's worth it to me. Jahkaya
If you have 2 19w 6500k I would opt for a 28/32 watt PC. This will give you a great color more wattage and fit perfectly over your tank (bulbs are about 13 inches) Link to comment
tsalter
What ballast are you using for the 32? I don't wan't to buy a retrofit for the tank. Would rather DIY.  Thanks  Tom Link to comment
