Jennifer
This is a hitchhiker my mom asked me to post a photo of for id. She just started a 10 g FOWLR, and this came on the live rock from the LFS. They don't have a clue what it is, not something they sell anyway. I've done some searching for her, but I haven't come up with anything definitive. Anyone know what it is? Thanks! Link to comment

caja
That's a keyhole limpet. http://olympiccoast.noaa.gov/LivingSanctua...ary/limpet.html Link to comment
Jennifer
Super, that's what I was looking for. Now that I know to search under "limpet", am I correct when I say as a general rule they are okay, but they may munch coraline? Does anyone have a problem with them or are they pretty much innocuous? Crakeur
Limpets are fine although I have had problems with them when they crawl along the rock. They hold that rock with some insane amount of pressure and the edges of the shell has done serious damage to soft corals in the 180. Tell mom not to worry. Link to comment
