NANOYED
pics of my new goni! Not the best shots, but the goni was enjoying the current, and I was to lazy to turn everything off. Link to comment
NANOYED
Newest addition - Wedding Cake Palys!! Thanks Mr. Coral! I won his auction on Ebay thinking I was going to get the 5 palys shown, but I actually got about 15 mature polyps. My pic with my crappy p&s This is very close to what they actually look like, maybe a bit lighter in my tank. Link to comment
knoxvegas
Nice tank and sweet zoas. BTW what media/filtration are you running in the back? I bought a used older NC 12g here a while back and it's just sitting and waiting. Also how are temps with the viper, and how much topping off do you have to do, manually or ATO? Link to comment
NANOYED
first chamber - black sponge (I change w/ weekly water change) second chamber - carbon & oceanic bio-cube protein skimmer third chamber - live rock & cheato with submersible light & 40gph pump fourth chamber - heater & return pump I run open top with the viper light & have a 40cfm clamp on fan. I top off daily & go thru about a gallon weekly. With the fan on it keeps the tank at 78-79 degrees. Link to comment
highonfumes
I just noticed that you run open top and have a jawfish? Is he still with you? How tall is your tank? I just set up a new open top system and I really wanted a jawfish but kind of let it go since I don't want a lid. Has he ever jumped out? Link to comment
NANOYED
I had a top on for a few weeks when he was getting used to the tank. Once they start covering there hole at night you should be alright to remove the top. I just added a peppermint shrimp a couple of weeks ago and it got nosey and went near my jawfishes burrow. Needless to say the Jawfish flipped out and jumped into the back chambers. I put the top back on for 2 days and now he is very cautious now with the peppermint shrimp. I run a risk of him jumping at anytime, but he's pretty comfortable w/ everyone now. Link to comment
