siskiou
Our sixline wrasse has taken to harrassing the neon goby. The goby was added last, and everything was fine for a few weeks, but three days ago a LR was dislodged by a large snail and I could never quite put it back the same way it was before. Ever since the wrasse has been chasing the goby, occasionally nipping him. I have the wrasse in a large breeding container inside the main tank (20H), to give the goby a chance to relax. Is there a chance that a time out for a couple of days will settle things down again, or do I have to find a new home for the wrasse or the goby? The only other [fish] occupant is a red-headed goby, who gets along fine with everyone. Siskiou Link to comment
mattie
a six line likes bigger tanks but with 3 fish in a 20 should be ok you can try making a few simple moves of LR and wait 2 days for the neon to know his way around first then release the 6line. my 2 cents Link to comment
caja
I agree with Mattie, rescaping the tank seems to be the way to halt aggressive behavior in fish. Time out for Mr. Wrasse. Link to comment
siskiou
Thanks! We re-arranged some of the LR, and will give the neon goby a couple of days to get used to it, before letting the wrasse back in. We hope they will get along again after that! Otherwise we'll rehome the little goby (our daughter has decided she'll save up her allowance for a 10G tank, and set it up as a FOWLR goby home ). Siskiou Link to comment
