K-MAN
So I'm having trouble with calibration. Or maybe I just think I am, but I am having to recalibrate [pinpoint calibration solution] everytime I use it ???!?? Is this normal? I was under the assumtion that I just need to calibrate it once and that was it? Any others with this refrac? Link to comment
Scott Riemer
Unless it's getting kicked around, it should be holding it's calibration. Link to comment
K-MAN
That's what i dont get. I'm extremely gentle with it and put it right back in its case. So do you think its something to do with the optical plate or something?? Link to comment
lakshwadeep
Maybe this will help: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-12/rhf/index.php#20 Are you waiting 30 seconds for the saltwater to adjust to the refractometer's temperature? Link to comment
K-MAN
Great article, Thanx Lack I think my issues were from not letting the test liquid sit for 30 sec to adjust to the temp of the refrac. I have been trying to get a reading within a few sec of putting the sample in. I recalibrated following the guidlines in the article and my tank water is right on 35 ppt. I will see tomorrow in the morning if the refrac still is calibrated. Hopefully that was my only issue. Link to comment
