jaxie
Did I read somewhere to *not* use Windex? Should I use just plain water or would a water/vinegar mix be okay? Or is there something even better? Thanks Link to comment
JohnnyMTB
I use Windex, just spray the towel AWAY from your aquarium, and wipe it down. You never want to spray anything around your tank, including glass windows that are close to it. Link to comment
myelin
When I first started in reefing, I just used water and a paper towel. Now I use a small amount of Windex and a paper towel. Link to comment
surfy
I use RO water and a small shower squegee. I sometimes use a little windex on a paper towel even though it is a bad idea. Link to comment
z6joker9
i use coffee filters, work perfectly without liquid. Link to comment
caja
Bah, spray a paper towel away from the aquarium with Windex and wipe clean, no big deal. Link to comment
redline
i use a micro fiber cloth (the same type as the one i use to wipe my oakleys clean) it does a good job.. no chemicals.. all good in the hood! Link to comment
~_~
I just use plain water. I don't like those other smelly liquids , especially vinegar :x Link to comment
Acoustic
I use extra strength anti-bacterial multi-surface windex. I spray a ton on a paper towel and wipe the whole tank down every couple of days. No way is my tank ever gonna get the creep look. Also, I have never had any problems with this method. Kirklan
I've used Windex for about 10 months so far and not had any issues. Just make sure to spray the towel down away from the tank and wipe away. Link to comment
TiGs
I have an acrylic tank so I use a micro fiber cloth and h2o Link to comment
SeaMountain
Have you tried reversing your mag float? Link to comment
BlackSumbel
I wipe down with water to remove any salt "trails" (it happens), dry with a paper towel, and once a week or so spray a cloth with windex, and wipe down the front. I don't use any chemicals whatsoever on the cover for the tank. Eugh. Bad idea. -Sumbel. Link to comment
nanoman
First I put RO/DI water in a pastic container and airrate overnight. Then I test for Alk/Calc and add buffers if needed. I put a drop of iodine and maybe some reef complete. I then evacuate the house of people and pets. I close all of the windows and blinds. I put on my bio hazard suit and goggles. Then I take a piece of 1000 micron filter pad and dip it ever so lightly in the water which has been heated to 80. I gently rubb the front of the glass in a clockwise motion trying no to breath to hard on the glass. If this dosn'et work I just take some windex and spray it on the tank and wipe. Link to comment

Djm9288
Yep, windex and a soft cloth, works for me. Plus, windex has that nice smell! Link to comment
birdman204
I clean my tank often, so just a paper towel works great. Link to comment
