tinyreef Posted October 11, 2003 Share Posted October 11, 2003 mushrooms (discosoma type), maybe some yellow polyps (supplemental feeding), macroalgae, maybe some green star polyps (depending on distance from light). the corals may brown a bit to compensate for the lower light (i.e. more symbiont algae). feeding helps supplement the sugars produced from photosyn but can easily pollute our smallish systems. keep the tank near/in sunlight. low-budget or high-budget tanks can always take advantage of free light. non-photosynthetics can do with low light obviously but are typically more difficult. if you can get more light (of the right spectrum) i would recommend it. don't try to force the livestock to try to adapt too much as it is stressful. good luck!
