Does anybody know of a good electrical quick disconnect i can use for my pumps? I want to be able to remove and clean my pumps w/o having to untangle the cord to unplug it from the powerstrip. I like the ones that come w/ my NC24 light ballast, where can you buy something like that? Thanks

The quick disconnect you are refering to are for DC which is much easier to do than AC.

I can't see a safe way of doing this, water and electricity need to be seperated, any plug too close to the pump will be too close to water. You can always route the cord somewhere else or shortern it, just make sure it is safe.

I have my powerheads hooked up to a remote control. The remote plugs into your powerstrip, the powerheads (I have a splitter on it) into the remote sensor. It works through the stand. Indoor/outdoor, made by Woods, $9.99 at Menards. That way when I feed, I can just click them off and back on. I also have a switch I'm going to hook up under my stand for my skimmer so I don't have to mess with cords. Its just a switch with a outlet so you can plug in whatever. Its not moisture proof or anything though.

Can you show me a link of the remote control, not sure what your tanking about but it sounds cool.

I was thinking of doing something like this...

http://www.minute-man.com/acatalog/AC_Powe..._and_Cords.html

In-Line Male IEC-320-C14 AC Plug and In-Line Female IEC-320-C13 AC Receptacle

But i cant figure a good way to make it water safe though. Im planning on getting a reefcontroller to handle control of power devices, however i want to be able to take pumps, heaters ect.. out easily to clean and not have to undue the whole wiring harness.

Its similar to this except this is not the one I got around here for $9.99, I can't find that one on the internet anywhere. Where are you? I'm in Michigan and I've seen these at Menards and Meijer.

You plug in the sensor to your surge protector, plug your pump into the sensor. Then you have a little key-fob type remote you can turn it on and off with.

this is what I have my skimmer on, hooked up under the cabinet. Its a switch, you plug it in to an outlet and plug in the skimmer or whatever, use the switch to turn it on and off.
