what to use in my media reactor to reduce phosphates?

im getting a Saphhire Aquatics Nano Media Reactor and was thinking of getting some Ferric Oxide and carbon from bulkreefsupply and mixing them together. to make my own "chemipure" would that work well?

i used ceramic media. cause then you can bake it.

Yes that will work, but it is not what I would suggest. You do not need to change out the GFH/GFO at the same rate as the carbon, and when you have them both in the same reactor you are forced to change them both at the same time.

 

But it will work fine as long as you know you have to change both medias at the same time.
