tinyreef Posted October 11, 2003 Share Posted October 11, 2003 i don't see a big problem if you use your wc water unless you're wc'ing the big one due to some problem. just dumping it into the smaller one ain't going to help the nano. but if you wc just for periodic 'refreshening' it should be fine imo. the more stable and mature tank will likely impart some plankton not found in the cherry tank, STD's and such. i 2nd, keep the glass top. evaporation occurs faster (in proportion) in nanos than the larger tanks. consequently greater stress upon the inhabitants. an auto top-off is both a luxury and necessity at times. btw you can upgrade your lights to the 13W i believe. the ballasts are rated for 17W(?) so they can cover either bulb. marinedepot.com i would think about a PH to comlement the HOB. minijet or microjet are good options. the one HOB may leave you with a couple of dead spots. hth Link to comment
