Reefer_Buddha
sorry, forgot to add the bulbs that come with it are 10,000k actinic 50/50 Link to comment
ELGORDOINAVW
i would say you would be ok keeping the polyps but would be hesitant to keep a open brain. Link to comment
Jahkaya
1x36 is enough to keep the open brain, but it will not grow much or be that happy. It may be best to get a 2x36 ot a 96watt PC quad. You can then keep a vast majority of corals. The 1x36 will get you by, but if you haven't got the lights already I would save up an extra 50 buck and double that lighting at least. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
what about 1x65? Link to comment
Jahkaya
a 1x65 will definitely be much better, but it will be about 4" too long for your 10 gallon. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
would that make any difference? i would just center it and mount it above the tank a few inches. i cant find a 20" in a high enough wattage Link to comment
bgoode
You can get a 2x36 in 20" or 1x96 powerquad in 20". The 1x65 would be okay, but you would be wasting light where it hangs over the edge of thank. Link to comment
Reefer_Buddha
well its about balancing what i can afford with what i need. Where do you get 2x36 im lookin all over ebay but dont see any. Link to comment
bgoode
Here is the 1x96 powerquad from HelloLights. Its the same price as my 2x36 was when I got it. I have a 2x36 that i got from PSL a while ago, I haven't heard good things about them lately though. http://www.hellolights.com/201xcoaqpcho.html Link to comment
