Im looking at buying a used 1.5 yr old JBJ nano chiller. I never had or used an aquarium chiller before. I am wondering how/if i will be able to test that it works before i buy it? Any help will be much appreciated. thanks.

hook up a maxijet to it in a bucket of water with the outlet going to the same bucket, measure the starting temperature, then measure it again in 10-20 minutes. what horsepower is it?

If you're using a 5 gallon bucket to test it should drop the temperature of 5 gallons of water about 15-20 degrees in an hour. So if it drops 2-3 degrees in 10 minutes you should be good to go.
