stardrop
I keep chaeto in the first section of my fuge where the water return is. I also have a set of submersible lights in there to keep the chaeto growing. I've noticed alot of fluffy brown crud in there and it settles on the chaeto. Should I just rinse it off or just leave it. Would it be detrimental to the chaeto? Link to comment
scubadoo
The Cheato also seems to act as a mechanical filter in my tank, and i occasionally rinse my Cheato in old tank water when i do a water change with no ill effect. You can also watch all the pods hoping around too. Link to comment
lakshwadeep
Remove it. It is no different than detritus that accumulates on sand or filter sponges. I don't think it harms the chaeto. Link to comment
kgross
I would also suggest removing it. It is detritus that is nice to remove from the system, plus it will block the light from getting to all the chaeto. Kim Link to comment
