harbingerofthefish
Take off the lid so you can get an unobstructed aim. Turn off all the filtration. Get a piece of PVC that you can hold anf touch the bottom of the tank with. Get a funnel. Pour sand through the funnel down the pvc to the bottom of the tank. Apply in thin layers so hopefully the new sand will soak up water and settle faster. Don't add too much to one spot at atime to try and keep surface bacteria alive. Cover your tank back up, crank up power and cross fingers. Link to comment
Crakeur
or you can simply put the sand in a clean bag, hold bag toward the bottom of the thank and gently pour the sand in. Link to comment
birdman204
Yah, I use a small cup, put the sand in there, if its dry, add tank water, then let it flow slooowly over the old sand, slooowly so as not to make the water super cloudy,. Link to comment
