Pump options with Remora Pro

I recently picked up a Remora Pro protein skimmer (HOB) with the mag 3 pump. I didn't realize when I bought it, but the pump will not fit in my 24g Aquapod. If I switch the pump to a quiet one 1200, will the skimmer work?

the quiet one is 296 GPH so you will loose some performance over over the Mag 3 being 375 GPH. Especially in the Aqua C style skimmer, since the Mag3 is also a higher pressure pump. The norm on a Pro is a Mag 5 or 7 for most people, but with all that being said, a Pro is rated much higher than your tank size so it should be ok, worse case I would say sell it and get a standard model which will run more in its efficiency range with a small pump.
