Digital PH Meter

2. i don't understand how you calibrate it with a screwdriver. all the ones i see require 2 solutions so that it can establish a range.

I think your refering to ones with controllers though. I have a Hanna Checker model pH meter and it has a calibration screw on it that you adjust once the display has stablized, you then turn it to make the dial read the amount of the 2 different solutions you use for calibration. This is how ANY pH meter works that I know of, except for when using a pH probe with say an ACjr... And remember, Hanna is one of the top meter makers in the industry, so if they have it then it's pretty darn legit for this cheap-o to have it.

 

I wouldn't say it's a POS, until it's compared to like a PinPoint pH meter...
