kamikaze_fish
It just hit me as I was looking at skimmers that they're all translucent. Is there a reason for that? I understand seeing the cup and skimmate but why the body of it? Link to comment

Kraylen
Clear = better when working with moving water. Just is.. no reason. Link to comment
StevieT
my Tunze is all black. My educated opinion, not fact A lot of skimmers are or started home made. Clear acrylic is available in many more shapes and sizes than colored especially in round shapes. You can see inside is a big factor as well. Link to comment

pimp4cheddar
You can see the amount and size of bubbles through clear acrylic. Clear is great for a ton of reasons...you can see the water lever, see how it works and it there's too much air in the skimmer. My remora is black/clear which I like...but at times I wish I could easily see the water lever and where the bubbles are foaming up too... Link to comment
